As a member of the theatre group ‘Parisiana’, he travels through Europe.
1980
Through his friend Chris De Wolf, he meets Didier Van De Steene, who stimulates him to draw more loosely.
1981
First exhibition in the Art Shop of the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels.
1982
On the invitation of the city of Wiesbaden, he works in Villa Clementine for two months as an artist in residence. His stay is concluded with an exhibition of his work.
1982
Meets his future wife, Pallaghy Piró. Writes her a love letter every day.
1983 & 1985
His drawings are shown once again in the Art Shop of the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels.
1983 - 1987
Lives in Hungary for a while, where he works in the Pannonia film studios in Kecskemét and completes his animated film Souvenir. Meets the animation film director Szilágyi Zoltán. Together, they learn wine-tasting.
1985
Birth of his daughter Lilla.
1986
His drawings are shown in the cultural centres of Eger and Kaposvár in Hungary.
1987
His animated film Souvenir wins the prize of the Hungarian Film and TV critics.
1987
Makes illustrations for the children’s book Sing a Song of Sixpence and wins the prize for the best children’s book in Budapest and an award at the Leipzig Buchmesse.
1988
Teaches art subjects to animation students at the Ghent Royal Academy of Fine Arts. He also learns a lot from his students.
1989
The best ideas for his drawings come while he is riding his bicycle.
